Take it from Jen Atkin—tendrils are in. The next time you have the urge to tuck away curly face-framing wisps, embrace the spiral strands with this French braided bun for curly and coarse hair types. Watch the tutorial above for the full breakdown to the French braided bun you never thought you could do all by yourself (but totally can), with just two products.

  1. Using a fine-tooth comb, part damp hair down the middle from the hairline to the nape of the neck
  2. Clip both sections
  3. Apply Leave In Conditioner all over then Treatment Masque from roots to ends for hydration and shine
  4. Begin braiding from the hairline, pulling hair into the braid as you braid your way down
  5. Spray the ends with more Leave In Conditioner then secure with a snag-less hair tie
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the other side
  7. Take a bobby pin and pin the braids over each other at the back of the head leaving the front pieces out
  8. Apply Leave In Conditioner to hands then over tendrils and flyaways
